After an 86-year history and a devastating fire that threatened the tradition of the hotel, Chase on the Lake, located on the shores of Leech Lake near downtown Walker, Minnesota, began a new chapter.

Chase on the Lake began its history in 1922 as the Chase Hotel, and quickly became a popular vacation destination. The hotel offered a luxurious stay to families and fishermen with its breathtaking views set atop Leech Lake, Minnesota's third largest lake. A raging fire left the entire property ruined in 1997 and it seemed as though all was lost. Eleven years later, after a $30-million complete rebuild, the Chase continues on, and brighter than ever.

When Leisure Inc. hired the Johnson Group to promote and market this historic property they wanted an agency that could think outside of the box during these challenging economic times. As we looked at the unique features of the hotel and demographics of their clientele and location, we knew finding the right partnerships would maximize their budget and attract an audience perfectly suited to enjoy all that Chase on the Lake has to offer.

Johnson Group negotiated the partnership, coordinated with producers, planned and oversaw the script writing, and consulted on all elements of the show featuring Chase on the Lake. Kent Hrbek Outdoors will be filming all summer long on location at the Chase on the Lake Hotel, showcasing both the amazing hotel that is Chase on the Lake and the great fishing in the lakes surrounding the area.
