Thomsens Greenhouse and Garden Center launches fresh website
Time for change. Thomsens Greenhouse and Garden Center, a well-known central Minnesota retail greenhouse and garden center, and long-time Johnson Group client decided it was time to reevaluate their website. Emphasis was to be placed on vibrant color, ease of navigation, online shopping cart, and a user-friendly content management system (CMS) for in-house updating. The changes and features they wished to incorporate, as well as a refreshed design, lead to more of an overhaul than update. The refreshed website needed to be informational, appeal to gardeners both experienced and budding, highlight events, and be easy to navigate. A comprehensive plant library feature was added allowing a user to search annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs, gaining detailed information about growing habits, and color. An online shopping cart provides Thomsens the versatility to promote any item or special they wish to spotlight. Having a retail feature like this leads to return shopper visits.
"The newly redesigned site is exactly what I wanted
the site to look like and I especially like the ability
to update it in-house,” said Arno Shermock, owner of
Thomsens Greenhouses and Garden Center.
The website's traffic has doubled and the eclub memberships are growing daily.
